The famous Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson was left “shocked” and “angered” after OpenAI launched a chatbot with a similar voice to her own.
ScarJo said she was approached by Mr Altman to voice its new chatbot in September, but she turned down the offer.
Upon its recent debut, commentators swiftly made connections between the tone of the new model, named Sky, and Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal in the 2013 film “Her.”
“When I heard the released demo, I was shocked, angered and in disbelief that Mr Altman would pursue a voice that sounded so eerily similar to mine,” she wrote.

OpenAI said on Monday that it would remove the voice, but insisted that it was not meant to be an “imitation” of the star.

However, ScarJo accused OpenAI, and its founder Sam Altman, of deliberately copying her voice.
Johansson’s legal team has sent OpenAI etters asking the company to detail the process by which it developed a voice they dubbed “Sky”, as per NPR.
